Ticket Refund Policy

1. All ticket sales are final

All tickets sold for events at The Bar(n) at Sonark Farms are final. We do not offer refunds, exchanges, or credits because you are unable to attend — including for illness, travel, weather, scheduling conflicts, or change of plans. Please be sure of your plans before you complete your purchase.

2. You may transfer your ticket — free

If you can't make it, give or sell your ticket to someone else. Simply forward your confirmation email to them; whoever presents the ticket at the door will be admitted. There is no transfer fee and you do not need our permission.

Tickets may not be resold for more than their face value plus tax. Tickets offered or sold above that amount are void, and we may refuse admission to anyone presenting one, without refund to any party. We are not responsible for tickets purchased from anyone other than Sonark Farms — we cannot verify, replace, or honor them.

3. Rain or shine

Events at The Bar(n) proceed rain or shine. We do not issue refunds or credits for rain, heat, cold, mud, delays, temporary suspension of an event, evacuation, or shortened performance, and we do not refund events that go ahead in reduced or modified form. Portions of our property are outdoors and unpaved; please dress for the weather and the terrain.

If conditions become genuinely unsafe — lightning in the area, high wind, flooding, loss of power or water — we may delay, pause, evacuate, or end an event early to protect our guests, staff, and performers. An event that has begun and is stopped early for safety is considered performed and is not refundable.

4. If we cancel or reschedule

  • Rescheduled or postponed: If an event is postponed or rescheduled, your ticket will automatically be valid for the new date. If you are unable to attend on the rescheduled date, you may request a full refund to your original payment method or a credit toward a future event by contacting us within fourteen (14) days of the announcement of the new date. If no request is received within 14 days, your ticket remains valid for the new date and is non-refundable.

  • Cancelled outright and not rescheduled: You may choose either a full refund of the ticket price to your original payment method, or a credit toward a future event at The Bar(n). Refunds are processed automatically to the card used at purchase and typically appear within 5–10 business days depending on your bank. Credits are valid for twelve (12) months from the date of issue and may be applied only to admission to events at The Bar(n) or to purchases made on site in connection with attending one.

  • Circumstances beyond our control: If an event cannot take place because of severe weather, fire, flood, power failure, loss of water or road access, government or ABC order, public health directive, artist illness or cancellation, labor action, or any other cause outside our reasonable control, our liability is limited to the remedy in this section — a rescheduled date, a credit, or a refund of the ticket price. We are not responsible for any other costs you incur, including travel, lodging, childcare, or time.

5. Line-up, program, and schedule changes

Artists, hosts, wines, menus, set times, running order, and event format are subject to change without notice. A change of supporting act, featured wine, food offering, or start time is not grounds for a refund, and the event is considered performed.

6. Ages, ID, and alcohol

The Bar(n) serves alcohol under North Carolina ABC permits. A valid, unexpired government-issued photo ID is required to purchase or consume alcohol, and for any event listed as 21+. Digital and photocopied IDs are not accepted. Anyone without acceptable ID will be treated as under 21 regardless of appearance or stated age.

North Carolina law prohibits us from serving anyone who is intoxicated or under 21. We reserve the right to refuse admission to, or remove, any guest for intoxication, disruptive or unsafe conduct, prohibited items, or violation of our venue rules. No refund is given to a guest who is refused entry or removed.

7. Wine tasting tickets specifically

Tickets to a guided wine tasting cover the tasting only. Any food offered at a tasting is provided separately by voluntary donation and is not part of the ticket price. Wine purchased at or after an event is a separate transaction and is not refundable once opened or removed from the property.

8. Admission is a revocable license

A ticket is a revocable license to attend a specific event on a specific date, not a property right. It may be revoked, and admission refused, at our discretion. Lost, stolen, duplicated, or damaged tickets cannot be replaced. We may refuse a barcode that has already been scanned. Late arrivals may be seated at a suitable break or, for seated or capacity-limited events, may not be admitted; no refund is given for late arrival or no-show. Re-entry may be limited or refused at some events.

9. Assumption of risk & Agritourism warning

The Bar(n) is located on a working farm property. Guests assume all ordinary risks associated with attending an event on agricultural land, including uneven ground, unpaved terrain, livestock, farm machinery, weather variations, and amplified music.

WARNING: Under North Carolina law, there is no liability for an injury to or death of a participant in an agritourism activity conducted at this agritourism location if such injury or death results from the inherent risks of the agritourism activity. Inherent risks of agritourism activities include, among others, risks of injury inherent to land, equipment, and animals, as well as the potential for you to act in a negligent manner that may contribute to your injury or death. You are assuming the risk of participating in this agritourism activity.

10. Pets and service animals

For the safety and comfort of all guests, performers, and our farm livestock, pets and emotional support animals are strictly prohibited on the property during ticketed events. Task-trained service animals as defined by the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) are permitted; service animals must remain on a leash or harness and under the handler’s control at all times.

11. Pricing errors

If a ticket is listed or sold at an incorrect price because of a typographical or system error, we may cancel the order and refund the amount paid in full. That refund is your sole remedy.

12. Disputes and chargebacks

If you believe a charge is wrong, contact us first at info@sonarkfarms.com before disputing with your bank — most issues we can resolve the same day. Filing a chargeback for a ticket purchased under this policy, for an event that took place, may result in the ticket being voided and future purchases declined.
