Yardarm brings their alt-rock energy — tinged with a distinctly North Carolina twang — to The Bar(n). The band pairs thoughtful songwriting with melodic punch, led by the vocal and creative partnership of Jason Bales and JJ Westfield, with Palmer Smith (bass) and John Cowan (drums) locking in a groove that’s equal parts indie grit, roots influence, and modern alternative edge.
Opening the evening is North Carolina psychedelic artist Jphono1 (John Harrison), a longtime force in the regional music scene whose work stretches across rock, folk, electronic, drone, improvisational soundscapes, and beyond. A former member of The Comas and North Elementary, co-founder of the Potluck Foundation collective label, visual artist, and fearless sonic explorer, Harrison approaches music with adventurous curiosity. His Jphono1 project spans experimental pop textures, banjitar-meets-synth explorations, and expansive improvisational jams that can feel jazzy, cosmic, rhythmic, and transportive — sometimes intimate, sometimes electrifying, always immersive.
