About the event
The Dan Davis Group is a Jazz organ trio featuring Doug Largent organ, Kevin Van Sant guitar, and Dan Davis - drums. The group performs improvised music from the classic jazz organ trio repertoire. We also perform original compositions and songs from the Great American Songbook, bebop, funk, NOLA, and Latin styles. Influences include artists such as Jimmy Smith, Wes Montgomery, The Meters, Larry Goldings, Grant Green, The Tony Williams Lifetime, Dr. Lonnie Smith, and Joey DeFrancesco. The group recently self-released its debut recording, Face 2 Face 2 Face, now available on all streaming platforms as swell as C.D and vinyl. This adds to the groups live recording, Very Alive: The Authorized Bootleg, recorded live at Slims in downtown Raleigh in October of 2024.
